Happy Girl

"Happy Daze"

Happy girl smiles and laughs away
As she walks on through another day
When will they see the pain inside?
They’d only notice if she’d die…

Angry girl hates her life
Her only friend’s a jagged knife
When will she learn to love the world?
Maybe when she loses Happy girl…

Selfish girl doesn’t care
About the problems that others share
Why does she ignore when her friends cry?
Maybe they feel they should hide…

Invisible girl moans and sighs
She feels unseen by others’ eyes
Happy girl tries to make her feel seen
But lately, it just isn’t working…

Happy girl sobs alone
If she pulls the trigger, will weight will be gone?
Angry girl finds her on the floor,
Selfish girl bursts through the door
Invisible girl falls and cries
Finally, they see her with their eyes
Angry girl realizes she’s always been loved
And screams at the heavens that fly above
Selfish girl realizes how Happy girl did hide,
And realizes she’d do anything for her to be alive.

Happy girl walks out of the room
The blood on her chest in full bloom
And thinks of how she did only die
To stop the wars, the yelling, the lies.
“Please, oh please,” she says in pain,
“Don’t let this effort be in vain.”
